It's a new beginning. So we're doing some things different this year. We won't be forgetting our roots though. Expect to be nastalgic over your favorite things about Redding Pride, but expect a few surprises too.
This year we're simultaneously going back to our roots while enjoying one of the newest and most beautiful spaces in our city. Market St. Promenade is both new and old with it's historical buildings, new store fronts and added parks and housing. It's the perfect vibe for perusing booths, sipping a cocktail, taking in drag and musical performances or checking out youth festivities.
With over 40 vendors and counting there will be plenty to take in whether you're shopping or thinking about getting a tattoo. As in year's past our local health and wellness community partners will be out on the promenade with us as well as local collectives. Learn about businesses in town who are allied with the LGBTQIA2S+ people of our city, or check out local artisans who create eveythingthing from wood carved masterpieces to Pride gear.
The Nor Cal OUTreach Project youth team is famous for their dedication and they do not intend to dissapoint this year. In fact they have every intention of outdoing themselves. Youth has it's own street this year. Yep, that's right, their own street. When you head over to their all-ages, alcohol free zone you'll find dance parties, face painting, and more rainbows than a sunny waterfall.
Some of the best memories from Redding Prides Past are the performances. This year will feature some staples of year's past and some newbies. Be ready to dance and tip your drag stars.
Food trucks are back at Pride Fest this year. Enjoy tacos, frybread, hot dogs, ice cream & more. Be sure to check out some of the surrounding eateries in downtown Redding when you head off the Promenade for dinner also.
Along with the trucks, this year's fest will feature slushy and lemonade services as well as cocktails and beer slinging from your favorite bartenders at Redding's gayest bar, The Vault. Most important, multiple stations will have water bottles for sales if you forget your water container. Be sure to stay hydrated!
This year's march will start on the promenade and extend out into the streets of downtown Redding. We know you'll be decked out in your colors, waving your biggest flags, and lifting your signs and messages. But also...Bring your bullhorns. Let's make some noise.
